Open Water Diver

The Open Water Diver certification is the 1st complete PADI certification you can earn and the most popular course for beginners worldwide. This certification is the most recognized in the dive industry and will allow you to dive anywhere in the world, independent of professional supervision, to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet. This certification is your passport to adventure and the key to open the door of the wonderful underwater world.

​  During your PADI Open Water Diver course, you’ll learn to use a regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), dive computer or dive planner, scuba tank, wetsuit or dry suit and weight system.

 

Scuba certification includes three phases:

1. Knowledge Development – Here you will learn the fundimentals of diving under water and understand how the equipment all fits together. You can also access © eLearning by PADI if you want to start the course online!

2. Confined Water Dives – Then you will get to experience and practice breathing underwater. You will learn the skills to help you enjoy scuba diving.

3. Open Water Dives – Here's where it all comes together! You will continue to practice your new skills in actual diving conditions. You will also be able to take a tour on the nearby dive site to see Canada's First Underwater Sculpture Park!

When you sign up for this course you will need to purchase your own scuba quality: Mask, Snorkel, Fins, boots and log book. All other equipment is provided. These have a personal style and fit and you will be more comfortable knowing your gear fits. We can help you choose gear with the best fit and features for you.

Student divers who are younger than 15 earn the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification, which they may upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver certification upon reaching 15. Children under the age of 13 require parent or guardian permission to register for PADI eLearning

*All Divers MUST fill out a Medical Form, and may require physicians approval prior to any inwater activities.
